Raleigh’s “First Friday” event kicked off with my largest show to date at ARTSPACE. Lots of visitors with of 3D GLASSES…and plenty of astonished people. I have to thank: Annah Lee, Katie Gunter and Brett Morris for selecting 9 pieces to show (with 6 being exhibited for the first time). Brett: WONDERFUL JOB on the install and lighting. Seeing “Millions of Miles from Earth” with the light penetrating the resin and casting the color on the wall was outstanding.
It’s always fun to be the “Fly on the Wall” and hear people’s first reactions when they view my 3D art for the first time. Usually, it’s “Wow!” or “OMG”. Sometimes it’s, “What the #$@% is this!” (and that’s in a good way…) But last night, I heard something new; a response that I thought fits the type of feeling I had when I first figured out my RESIN-ANCE technique:
“I NEVER IMAGINED THAT THIS WAS POSSIBLE!”
The show will remain up through the end of October (on the 2nd floor).
I hope you stop by Artspace, Raleigh, enjoy the 3D Art and take a look at the other great artists too (on exhibit or in the studios.)
